A delicious debut for Rona Buenaseda-Chua at Crucible

Still-life artist Rona Buenaseda-Chua will mount her first one-woman exhibit at the Crucible Gallery starting November 25.

Buenaseda-Chua is a member of the Tuesday Group of Filipino artists, which counts Angel Cacnio, Jun Martinez, Elmer Gernale, Ton Raymundo, Maida Sobretodo and Menchu Arandilla, among others, as members.

Buenaseda-Chua has been painting “ever since she could remember.”  An Assumption Convent alumna in her grade school and high school years, she majored in Art Education in College of the Holy Spirit and taught in Xavier and ICA.  She has conducted various art workshops and participated in several group exhibits, including those of the Tuesday Group. Currently, she teaches art at Rona’s Art Studio, which is located in Pasay Road, Makati and Ortigas Avenue, Greenhills.

This artist paints “everyday” objects and her favorite subjects are flowers and comestibles. She uses watercolor and colored pencils. Fish, shellfish, fruits and vegetables adorn her canvasses, which she infuses with the vibrant hues of these bounties.
