BENEFIT SHOW AT CRUCIBLE
Still-life artist Rona Buenaseda-Chua mounts her first one-woman exhibit on view until Dec. 7, at the Crucible Gallery, 4th floor, Bldg A., SM Megamall.
Rona is a member of the Tuesday Group of Filipino artist, which counts Angel Cacnio, Jun Martinez, Elmer Gernale, Ton Raymundo, Maida Sobretodo and Menchu Arandilla, among others, as members.
An Assumption Convent alumna in her grade school and high school years, she majored in art education at the College of Holy Spirit and taught in Xavier and ICA.
She has conducted various art workshops and participated in several group exhibits. She teaches art at Rona’s Art Studio, in Pasay Rd., Makati and Ortigas Ave., Greenhills.
Rona paints “everyday” objects and her favorite subjects are flowers and comestibles. She uses watercolor and colored pencils.
Fish, shellfish, fruits and vegetables adorn her canvasses, which she infuses with the vibrant hues of these bounties.
Part of the proceeds of her show will benefit the Studium Theologie Foundation, which facilitates the education of diocesan seminarians.
